I love love love heart shaped sugar cookies at valentines (or any other time) but I am always wondering how to make them soft and chewy. Mine always seem to be crunchy. Anyone got any good recipes?

Hey this is Liz Jenni's friend in Kailua.
Here's mine. You have to make sure they don't cook too long or they get hard.
Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
Add the sifted dry ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour, then roll out on a floured surface.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen medium sized cookies
wow thanks! I love recipes that are tried and true. Plus I remember jenni saying your a great cook!
I have one that I make for so many occasions...in fact I'll be making 7 dozen for my preschool's easter party. It's from Sis. Tu and it's made with brown sugar! let me know if you're still on the hunt and I'll post it.
